What is phone-o-graphy?

Photography is not only a very powerful medium of communication but also a way of expression and everyone knows that a picture is worth a thousand words. We use cameras to take pictures but now cameras come in phone/cell devices that allow us to shoot with ease and comfort. Here comes the concept of phone-o-graphy instead of traditional term photography.

We are passing through the digital era and we are living in a time where ‘change’ is everywhere. Gone are the days when we were used to mono-functional devices and a camera was a camera, a MP3 player was an MP3 player, a phone was merely a phone…but the innovation has changed the way we live as well as the meaning of our life and how we interact with the external world. These days market is full of mutli-functional devices and digital cameras are found in a variety of other gadgets – including cell phones (mobiles).

In fact camera phones are one of the fastest growing segments of the digital camera market and with the improvements in the quality of what is being offered in some phones (higher mega-pixels, better lenses, high capacity storage etc.) some believe that they are beginning to win market share away from the low end offerings of many digital camera manufacturers. This is also a big truth that many of us are using camera phones regularly to capture life, events and interesting moments.

Unfortunately many of the pictures being taken with Camera Phones are poor in quality. This might partially be a result of lower quality cameras – but it is also often a result of poor photographic technique. I will not only share my phone-o-graphy (pictures) through this blog but also guide you towards better phone-o-graphy techniques and gadgets available in the market. With the development of Information technology, electronic media, blogs, Facebook, and Twitter, people are recording information at an extremely rapid pace, and the cell phone is the primary tool for approaching life with such immediacy and ease. It is the cheapest way to make people see…with…me. So, the photography is now changed to phone-o-graphy. I will try to capture the different aspect of Pakistani life, culture, architecture, portrait, landscape, nature, macro etc. etc. etc.

{ so stay tuned and see...with...me...!!! }
